The Rio Esplanade parking lot adjacent to Rio Del Mar Beach near the intersection of Aptos Beach Drive and Rio Del Mar Blvd is free and near the transition area.
SWIM
The swim will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and will have three waves of racers:
- 8 a.m. — Men 44 and under
- 8:05 a.m. — All Women
- 8:10 a.m. — Men 45 and older
The swim course will close at 8:45 a.m. IIf you are in Wave 2 or 3 and think you need more time for your swim, please let us know so we can move you into the first wave. Anyone still in the water at 8:45 will be assisted out of the water by lifeguards and disqualified.
Also, please remember the swim course changed in 2015. You will swim around the Cement Ship, keeping the pier on your left shoulder. Near the shore end of the ship, you will turn right and keep the line of buoys on your right shoulder until the final buoy, where you turn left and exit the swim course.
